Gifted Scholars Leadership Academy

The Academy is being developed!

Gifted Scholars Leadership Academy (The Academy) is a proposed residential leadership academy established under Gifted Scholars Leadership Program, Inc. Based in Philadelphia, The Academy will serve girls ages 11–17 who are in foster care or experiencing homelessness, welcoming girls from across Pennsylvania.

More than a place to stay, The Academy is an innovative model that combines residential care, academic support, and life skills development. The Academy will support academic success, emotional well-being, leadership development, and successful transitions to adulthood. Mentorship, enrichment, and experiential learning opportunities will further support each girl’s growth and development.

Staff will be trained in trauma-informed practices, and behavioral health services will be provided in coordination with licensed behavioral health providers, as needed. Above all, The Academy will provide a safe, stable, and nurturing place to live, learn, heal, and grow.

THE NEED

Girls in foster care or experiencing homelessness often face significant challenges, including trauma, educational disruption, housing instability, mental health concerns, and increased vulnerability to violence and exploitation.

The need for supportive residential and educational programs remains urgent. Without targeted support, many young people remain at risk of continued instability and a future of poverty.
